Lost Magic: A type of Magic that has been obliterated from the history of the world due to their immense power and the sheer gravity of their side effects on the users. However, users of such Magic still exist, though the Magic itself is believed to be extremely rare. Types of magic that are considered Lost Magic include...

  • Dragon Slayer Magic
  • God Slayer Magic
  • Devil Slayer Magic

Dragon Slayer Magic: A form of lost magic that allows for its users to into a dragon. As a result, the user can transform their body with features of their respective element, utilizing both offensive and defensive styles. Dragon Slayers have greater resistance against magic that is of the same element as their primary. A Dragon Slayer is also the only one capable of killing a dragon.

How to Become a Dragon Slayer: Because this type of magic is very powerful, there are certain conditions to gaining the power. First, the mage seeking Dragon Slayer status must be, at least, a B-Class mage. Second, they must make a payment of 500,000 Jewels to fulfill the magic fee. Thirdly, they must have completed a 5000 word count post detailing how they receive this magic.

God Slayer Magic: It is a form of Ancient Spell in which the caster is able to attain the abilities of a "god", using a specific element as their type. The certain elemental type of God Slayer Magic can be conjured from the caster's body and be used for various purposes, mainly in combat. It is said that the original usage of this Magic was to slay "gods". In addition, the color of each God Slayer's element has a black tint, regardless of what it may be.

How to Become a God Slayer: Because this type of magic is very powerful, there are certain conditions to gaining the power. First, the mage seeking God Slayer status must be, at least, a B-Class mage. Second, they must make a payment of 500,000 Jewels to fulfill the magic fee. Thirdly, they must have completed a 5000 word count post detailing how they receive this magic.

Devil Slayer Magic: A form of Lost Magic that is capable of slaying demons and replenishing the users strength as well as giving a higher resistance against magic of the same element. It is a fickle magic; the user who learns to fast and uses the properties of the magic in rapid succession suffer from adverse effects. Black markings spread across their bodies that cause great pain and exhaustion.

How to Become a Devil Slayer: Because this is among the ranks of powerful magic, there are certain conditions that must be met before one can claim Devil Slayer status. First, the mage must be, at least, a B-Class mage. Second, they must make a payment of 500,000 Jewels to fulfill the magic fee. Thirdly, they must have completed a 5000 word count post detailing how they receive this magic.

Guideline: Lost Magic Empty Re: Guideline: Lost Magic

Dragon Slayer: This magic was made for the purpose of slaying dragons, and comes in various elements for that very purpose. Dragon Slayers have the ability to consume the element that they are aligned to, their primary magic that defines what sort of Slayer they are, for a replenishing of strength. The element that Dragon Slayers produce themselves cannot be consumed, however, and elements that can be consumed can only be taken in by mouth. There are three different generations of Dragon Slayers, and all three come with their own benefits.

Generations:

  • First Generation: The "First Generation" of Dragon Slayers includes Slayers who have been taught directly by the dragon of the mage's primary element. This only occurs during an event where dragons are spawned, so no one can immediately become a First Generation Slayer. Perks include (+1) to perception. Meaning, someone with a B-0 perception stat would act as though it was at B-1 during combat.
  • Second Generation: The "Second Generation" of Dragon Slayers includes Slayers who receive Dragon Lacrima and implant it in their bodies. This is an artificial way of receiving the Dragon Slayer Status. The lacrima can be purchased from the shop. However, due to how rare and special they are, only two can be purchased per month by the use of a certain currency (Dragon Souls). Perks include (+1) to strength. Meaning, someone with B-0 strength would act as though it was a B-1 during combat.
  • Third Generation: The "Third Generation" of Dragon Slayers includes those who were taught directly by a dragon matching their primary element AND implanted a Dragon Lacrima into their bodies. If someone is a First or Second Generation, they can simply fulfill either of the two in order to change their status to a Third Generation. Perks include (+1) to strength and perception, as well as mana costs (of spells for the primary element of the Dragon Slayer) being reduced by 5.

Enhanced Senses: As a Dragon Slayer, one receives yet another benefit upon being granted the status. Their hearing, sense of smell, and even taste are affected properly. But, even that can prove to be a negative, as there are several things that can be used against the enhancement of the senses.

  • Dragon Slayers of all generations receive a (+1) to reaction time as a result of the enhanced senses. (Occurs during combat only)
  • Drawbacks include: (-1) to reaction time and perception when fighting on a form of transportation. They are sensitive to high-pitched sounds and strong odors.

Consumption: The consumption of their respective elements can occur inside and outside of battle, but only when there is a source. Benefits that come from consuming the element includes a reduction of the current cool down for spells by a certain amount and can restore some mana. However, there are some things to keep in mind.

  • Purity: A Dragon Slayer cannot consume their respective element unless it is purely that element. If the element has been mixed or modified at all by another, it cannot be consumed. For example, a Water Dragon Slayer cannot consume a magic with ice/water.
  • Surroundings: It is possible for the Dragon Slayer's element to be consumed if it is available in their surroundings. As these types of sources are limited, a Dragon Slayer cannot receive the full benefits of consumption. They do, however, receive 5 mana to replenish their energy. This can only be done once every two posts.
  • Spells: It is possible to consume an element from a spell, but not all can be so easily consumed. Large scale spells cannot have the element consumed due to their incredible sizes. For example, a grand explosion of fire used on a Fire Dragon Slayer. As the elements match, the Slayer should be able to consume it. That is not so. It is simply to massive for them to take in. But, the damage is reduced by one rank due to the Slayer's level of resistance.
  • Cool Down: Because the consumption of the element is not a spell, but an ability, there is nothing that can be done for the waiting time. With the exception of the second condition, the Dragon Slayer must wait for a few posts before being able to consume the element again.

Consumption Ability: Upon becoming a Dragon Slayer, the Consumption ability is given as a freebie and does not have to be paid for. It does not need to be trained up or trained for, either. It does, however, need to be included in your registration app for magic and approved before it can go in your magic list. Copy and paste the code below.

Code:
[b]Name:[/b] Consumption Ability
[b]Canon or Custom:[/b] Canon
[b]Rank:[/b] Same as Caster
[b]Type:[/b] Supplementary
[b]Element:[/b] None
[b]Range:[/b] 2 meters
[b]Specialty:[/b] None
[b]Duration:[/b] Instant
[b]Cool Down:[/b] Varies
[b]Description:[/b] The caster is capable of devouring an element matching their primary as if it were food when it is within 2 meters of them. As a result, the cool down for a single spell of the user's primary is reduced and mana is regained As it is not a magic spell, it does not have a mana cost.

Consumption Ability Ranking:

  • Class D: The user is able to consume a spell of the same element and reduces the cool down for a spell of the primary element by one post. Five mana is restored instantly. User must wait one post before using again.
  • Class C: The user is able to consume a spell of the same element and class (or lower), and is able to reduce the cool down for a spell of the primary element by two posts. 10 mana is restored and the user must wait two posts before using again.
  • Class B: The user is able to consume a spell of the same element and class (or lower), and is able to reduce the cool down for a spell of the primary element by three posts. 15 mana is restored and the user must wait three posts before using again.
  • Class A: The user is able to consume a spell of the same element and class (or lower), and is able to reduce the cool down for a spell of the primary element by four posts. 20 mana is restored and the user must wait four posts before using again.
  • Class S+: The user is able to consume a spell of the same element and class (or lower), and is able to reduce the cool down for a spell of the primary element by five posts. 25 mana is restored and the user must wait five posts before using again.

Resistance: Dragon Slayers develop a passive ability that reduces the damage taken from magic of the same element. And, as they grow stronger, so does this resistance. Damage taken is reduced by rank.

I'm glad you found a way to add the consumption ability in there without the ability to use it on other mages. Completely slipped my mind when coming up with it. Everything checks out on my end.

Guideline: Lost Magic Empty Re: Guideline: Lost Magic

God Slayer: This magic was created for the purpose of slaying gods, and it comes in various elements for that purpose, which makes it similar to Dragon Slayer magic. What makes it more similar to its fellow Lost Magic, is that God Slayer magic allows for its user to devour an element matching the user’s primary element that has undergone the God Slayer change. They cannot devour their own element to replenish their strength, only another’s. Unlike Dragon Slayers, there aren’t any specific generations of God Slayers. All spells under the God Slayer magic is tainted black, giving it a darker appearance than other magics. Spells that are not from the primary look as they usually do.

Part of the reason why this type of Lost Magic is rare is because no one knows how one learns it exactly. In the past, a mage by the name of Sherria was said to have learned the magic from a type of book. Other than this one method, the other ways remain unknown. It should also be noted that the personalized spells of God Slayer magic are named after a specific, mythological god. For example, if I was a Lightning God Slayer, my magic spells may start with “Lightning God’s Raijinto” or something of the like.

Consumption: While God-Slayers appear to have fewer benefits than Dragon-Slayers, they do get fewer disadvantages. All of which can be seen if you read through the Dragon Slayer information. One ability that God-Slayers share with them is the ability to consume magic of the same element. Please read through the consumption ability above to find out about the drawbacks and other relevant information.

Resistance: Upon becoming a God-Slayer, you gain an enhanced resistance that reduces damage taken from magic of the same element. And, as the mage grows stronger, so does this ability. Damage from magic of the same element is reduced by one rank.

Guideline: Lost Magic Empty Re: Guideline: Lost Magic

Devil Slayer: This type of Lost Magic is one of the lesser known ones. Just as its cousin magics, Dragon Slayer and God Slayer magic, Devil Slayer magic comes in many elemental forms for the purpose of slaying demons. What makes it similar to the other two is the granted ability of consumption and higher resistance. However, this magic is a fickle one where learning too quickly causes the user to suffer negative effects, which will be explained below. Another ability that comes with Devil Slayer magic is the ability to quickly identify a demon.

Consumption: Just as the other two forms of Lost Magic possess the ability of consumption, Devil Slayer magic possesses it as well. This allows for the user of Devil Slayer magic to devour an element matching the primary of the user; the magic that underwent the transformation to Devil Slayer magic. Further information about the drawbacks and benefits of this ability can be seen above with “Dragon Slayer” magic.

Resistance: Upon becoming a Devil Slayer, you gain an enhanced resistance that reduces damage taken from magic of the same element. And, as the mage grows stronger, so does this ability. Damage from magic of the same element is reduced by one rank.

Underworld Curse: The main drawback for Devil Slayers is the Underworld Curse, which takes the form of black markings that spread across the entire body of the user. Activation of this “curse” cannot be prevented, except for if the user chooses not to use their primary for fighting.

  • Stage One: In this stage of the Underworld Curse, the user experiences a minor wave of pain where the mark of their Devil Slayer appears-- either forearm. The black markings spread up to the elbow, shrouding that section of the body in ink-black darkness. This stage of the curse occurs after two consecutive posts where Devil Slayer magic has been used. The user also receives a (-1) to all stats.
  • Stage Two: During this stage of the Underworld Curse, the user experiences a greater wave of pain as the markings of the curse spread over half of the body-- either the left half or the right half. This stage occurs after four consecutive posts where Devil Slayer magic has been used. The user receives a (-2) to all stats.
  • Stage Three: The final stage of the Underworld Curse. In this last stage, the user experiences unbearable pain as the markings of the curse have spread to every inch and limb. This occurs after six consecutive posts where Devil Slayer magic has been used. The user receives a (-3) to all stats.

Demon Identification: Perhaps one of the most useful benefits coming from Devil Slayer magic. This allows for the user to quickly identify demons hiding among the common folk after observing the area for one post. In the next post, the user can confirm their findings. But, there is a limit to how far one can search.

  • Class B: 40-50 meters | 6-10 meter radius
  • Class A: 50-60 meters | 10-20 meter radius
  • Class S+: 80-100 meters | 30-50 meter radius

Code:
[b]Name:[/b] Demon Identification
[b]Canon or Custom:[/b] Canon
[b]Rank:[/b] Same as Caster
[b]Type:[/b] Supplementary
[b]Element:[/b] None
[b]Range:[/b] Varies for Each Rank
[b]Specialty:[/b] None
[b]Duration:[/b] 1 Post
[b]Cool Down:[/b] 3 Posts
[b]Description:[/b] An ability that allows for the user to scout the area with their eyes and locate demons on the spot. Due to it not being a spell, but an ability, there is no mana cost.
